I could've swore I updated last night. I had to call to join probate court. I could hear what was going on. They did not ask me anything. It's a local facility, for mental patients, I think. It looks like a large house, surrounded by smaller houses. He's in the large one. They called me and asked me what is wrong with him. I couldn't believe it. I sure hope they know what they're doing. It doesn't sound like it. I had to go buy him Depends. They do not supply them. I also took him underwear and socks, and personal hygiene products. Still no visiting. He said when the governor says it's okay they will. I told them they are letting people in the hospital have one visitor now, and nursing homes outside. The nurse also talked to me. She said I have to get POA even though I was told years ago that he could not consent to it and is even less able now. She seemed very sad. They don't think he can see well. Still combatative. She thinks she's sad. I knew him when he was young and vibrant and made me laugh all the time. I'm the one who's sad.

It sounds like the Hospital didn't transfer the information about him. I don't know why they don't. I know Drs and Hospitals used too.

and I'm expecting unless he lost enough weight his slacks will not fit over.
And shirts are now to small.
( my sis has to buy wipes and any over to a month on one of my Nephew's creams. She has control of his checking though, and is of course an allowed expense. )

Also they will i expect set up a pocket money account at the desk in his unit / building.

He was a smoker? Have they reduced it?

You need to be on top the hospital, as far what they try and Bill in HIS name, to what they want to call the responsible party.

And you need a Support group! The Long Good Bye is on a new road.  It's the current method of in sickness & Health.

No, they did not give me anything. Just told me they don't provide Depends. I went and bought two packs. Was told he will be given and have to wear a uniform. Really don't know anything else. I also gave them two reader glasses, as they said they don't think he can see well. He quit smoking many years ago. The woman at the hospital who handles the financial stuff gave me the number to call about the bills a long time ago. She said call next week. Whatever is not covered by charity will hopefully be by Medicare and/or Medicaid. It's a holiday weekend. Can't get anything done till next week. The nurse told me I need to get POA, regardless of what I was told two years ago. Will call a lawyer next week, too, and see what they say.

Called the Alzheimer's hotline a while back. They weren't much help and wanted to hook me up with a support group in California. Need local, they didn't know of any.

There are none on the East Coast and Southern states either?    
The Georgia Chapter has been serving communities since 1982, with currently 150,000 living with Alzheimer's.  It's not likely that the only support group is in CA, someone wasn't understanding you very well.
