TracFone's cellular has been down; I tried calling several times to straighten out the situation with my smartphone claiming it's 3G! Verizon is phasing out 3G LTE by December 2022.

I called Headquarters and kept getting NO Cellular. Finally, had the sense to check the Internet and found out Yep! TracFone is down; probably has to do with that Solar Flare that struck the Earth the other day. Neutral

I didn't notice a problem in my area.
Wyz are you on a free minutes program? They might send you a 4g.
You did know Verizon bought all of tracfone from that Mexican billionaire right.

$150ish will get you a 5G tracfone. All tracfones can be used on safe link.

I knew Verizon bought TracFone via My Pops sending me a link about it since He's been with Verizon for years. The thing is My Smartphone was a 4G before the transfer to Verizon. I have a Motorola XT 1955DL ( Moto G7 Optimo Maxx) that Pops got from WalMart and he specifically chose it for the 4G LTE since he knew that 3G was being phased out!

He said Verizon is lousy with the 5G so no point in buying that at the moment.

Yes, I pay for the unlimited text and talk data plus 1 GB of data but I don't use it that often so it's sitting at 16G. I usually use my Wi-Fi Very Happy

The Down time was mostly West and East Coast.

No, I never tried it. A Friend wants me to apply for the Fed discount on Cable. I told him it applies to Families only , not to ppl on Fed disability. He said Congress/Pres set up to include those of us on Fed disability. So, I'll check into it. My Cable company is a carrier in that program, so I'll try again.

I don't watch TV, I just use the WiFi.

Oh you don't need to have tv.
The phone program is old, and i get unlimited data, you surely sho ask.
https://www.safelinkwireless.com same owners as tracfone, keep number or get new one. Ask about hotspot service. And i believe that they were right on the discount.

If i recall correctly all you need is id and medical card.
