Yesterday in So. Calif. the snow level got down to about 1,500 feet. Three of the main freeways leading out of town were closed because of snow. I-15 to Vegas at the Cajon Pass closed, I-5 over the Grapevine was closed as was SR14 to the Antelope Valley.
Thousands of cars were stranded, many overnight. People just stayed in their cars 'cause there was no place to go.
This was the worst storm in about a decade according to the news. Here in Long Beach we had steady rain for about 15 hours straight.
But a lot of good came out of this, too. We really need the rain since we've been in drought conditions for a few years. And I hope the snow in the High Sierras was piling up because we get a lot of our water from there. So let it snow, let it rain, we need it.
