I had about decided the pills weren't doing anything anyway (on some of the Alzheimer's discussion forums, the people say they don't). But since hubby hasn't had a couple of the prescriptions for a couple of weeks, his behavior has been worse. He's stubborn and will contradict you. He's not wanting to take any pills lately. I have to threaten him with jail (yeah, empty threat). So don't know what to do. He sees the doctor tomorrow. IF I can get him to go. I had to put his shoes on him today. And had to show him how to get in the truck, and had to put his seatbelt on him. That is worse. Just a couple of the things that are worse.

One of my bosses wanted to know what stage he is in. I don't really know.

     No, they seem to think his bad behavior is because he ran out of meds. They are not experts, at all. His bad behavior has been extended to him not wanting to take his pills. I have been having to practically fighting him over everything. So he pulls his punches, but he still punches and been kicking me with his knees. All anybody says is call the cops, but that's no solution. And if he goes to jail, disability will stop. I can't live without the money. And don't want that to happen either. If he will just calm down.

There must be an organization that can help you, Angie. Since they have one for Elder Abuse they have one to help ppl who take care of Elders!  Call those ppl for help with taking care of him. 

I understand about the money, I had a friend that was going through what you are only she wasn't allowed to work. She had to do it under the table because his disability benefits were not enough to pay the rent and buy the special foods/medicines he needed. She cleaned houses on the side. That was in 1989, I think. She ended up going to the Lodge ( Lions Club) to get  liquid food help for him. 
I'll double up on the Healing Vibes for You two.

Everybody says you don't want to get the authorities involved. Once they are, you can't get rid of them.

I had to put the pills in his mouth and get him to swallow some water with them. That is another step back. I would say stage 5, since stage 6 is incontinence.

Refuses to take his pills. I don't think they help enough.

Angie, then you're going to have to call in your family to help YOU!  
I couldn't call in my family when I needed them because they all lived on the Eastern Seaboard.  ( Mum's sisters flew out but she refused to recognize them. When they left she locked me out of the house. She shoved me out the screen door. I didn't have my keys on me at the time. )

However, I did call in Friends and Neighbors who'd themselves had, have, and are going through it themselves. 

If something happens to You , he'll be under the care of the State.  I understand about the money ...it's helping with the Bills and a little pleasure. Catch-22

Yes look up a support group, maybe even find a drop of center. someone besides you sees how he is that way.

You have POA and his kids know it?

No, no POA. The lawyer said he couldn't legally sign it over. Family has been no help. They all say they have too much on their plates already. That includes everybody. My son called yesterday and said he is kicked out of my sister's house as of immediately. Over pot, which makes no sense. My sis was a big pothead herself. Maybe eventually will move in here, but not immediately. I'm afraid he and hubby would fight, and hubby wouldn't understand why at all. I am in a rock and a hard, impossible situation. Don't want to involve anybody else.
