My power went out yesterday from 5:10 p.m. to 12:42 a.m. due to storms. Can't do anything but listen to a battery-powered radio while it's out.

  There are Hand-crank radios that have been out for a number of years.  My Sister bought one a number of years ago from C.Crane and Co that not only used Hand power but Solar Power too.  When I did my last move it stayed behind because it was in a closet that got really moldy .  Opening the closet door the scent would make a person gag, not to mention the door was covered in it.  I don't know where the moisture came from unless it was from the outside wall? 

Anyway, You might want to look into it.  I'm sure there are other places that sell them , these days.
