The scam was I received an email that said my Geek Squad membership had been renewed automatically and I would be charged $449.50. It gave an 800 number to call and cancel. I called and told them I've never had a Geek Squad membership. It looked official and everything. When I called they told me to go here and do this and another website and do this. A big long song and dance. At the end of it they told me they were refunding me $500 straight to my bank account. They had me bring up my online bank account and the screen was shared with them. Can't believe I even fell for this. Hope springs eternal. They showed where the $500 was being deposited but then it was accidentally added a 0 which made it $5000!!! and showed it was deposited to my bank account! But it was all a scam. It was never deposited. I took the phone in to Walgreens and told the cashier what was going on. She said she would not do it then. She took my phone and told the scammer off. She was my hero. Then I went to my bank and told them what happened. They changed my user names and passwords and checked to see if anything had happened. They put an alert on the account in case anything else happened. They said I stopped it in time.

I explained it better the first time before it disappeared and I had to repost. They told me to go to Walgreens an buy gift cards in amounts of $500 to pay it back. They claimed their bank put a hold on their accounts because of all this and they would be fired. It was their doings, not mine. I got suspicious. I told the guy I had heard about scams like that.

Sometimes a device, your Chrome Book may do a save, with a try a paste.
Do a return a few times try and paste.
If nothing then do a hold, select all, copy. Have to do some deleting but not retype everything.
I get variations of that often in outlook, if it says PayPal anywhere forward to Spoof@paypal.com

T?
I'm just glad it didn't work for them. Been calling my bank every day to make sure nothing has happened. Apparently the scammer told the cashier he was going to fly here and have her fired. She told him she didn't even think he was in the United States.

So annoying! I have been on chat with people from Apple.com. It seems like an endless loop. You need to update your information, then you need to verify your email. It happens over and over. Was on chat for about 2 hours. Ugh! And still could not get through. The last guy told me my refund has been approved. I told him that's something at least.
