We get them occasionally, but usually not longer than six feet. The little ones are the most dangerous. The younger they are the more poisonous they are.

If your a golfer you will see these signs on the courses..Backyard Pet Snake-warning-on-course

The snakes eat the golf balls, but people pick them up too so the courses have had to implement some strong measures....

Wow, Jack! That's a pretty stern warning about not picking up the golf balls if one is NOT a player! The punishment could not be any worse! lol!

P.S. About the snake - it just might make a good entree for 'Hey You'! Laughing

I'm a golfer but there are no rattlers on the courses around here, just the occasional water moccasin in the ponds.

Bob you need water for Water Moccasins and there isn't much of that nearby Phoenix but the rattlers seem to like it dry.

They may grow bigger around Globe which is a bit higher than Phoenix, I think about 5,000 or 6,000 feet above sea level and Phoenix is 1200 feet above sea level.

Hattie, they tell me snakes taste just like chicken but I haven't had the urge to try it yet. No

The Santa Catalina Mountains are a beautiful area. For awhile there we were thinking about moving there but health problems have forced us to stay in the phoenix area.

I don't think I'd have slept that night knowing that big snake was still lurking about. Shocked
