blondie- Thank You, you're very sweet , and speaking of sweet how is Beloved Doris doing?

Beloved Doris is hale, hearty and doing well.  Playing bridge about 5 days a week in addition to our standing Saturday lunch & errands.  Oftentimes, we will supplement with dinner out 1 or 2 times a week depending on our schedules and whatever else is going on.  This Saturday we will be participating in a garage sale in an effort to whittle away at our respective "stuff."  We plan to downsize this year so need to scale way, way back.  We are looking in the immediate area with no luck thus far which may mean a move for Beloved Doris as well if we can't find anything close. We too are no longer young and would like to cut our expenses and WORK!  Doris fluctuates on whether to remain in the house or move to an apartment, condo or senior living that would allow for assisted living as it becomes necessary. Right now, she is somewhat spoiled with me living approximately 1/2 mile away and she would prefer if I lived next door.

No, I doubt that Habitat would accept as they usually build houses from scratch (at least here in FL they do).  I would try either the Salvation Army or Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, Inc. (CMHP) - (320) 259-0393 - or any non-profit that offers housing for low income or the homeless.  If they don't accept it, they might be able to direct you to an organization that would be interested.  I would ask to speak with a director as someone who answers the phone will likely be of little assistance.

I don't know whether you are near St. Cloud, MN, but the St. Cloud Coalition for Homeless Men -
SCCFHM@gmail.com does small home & trailer projects.  Looks like a decent organization.
