Me and Hubby's grown kids took him to the hospital yesterday. They wouldn't keep him. All they did was run a cat scan and it was normal. He's definitely not normal, though.

Try and have your Hubby be seen by a Neurologist and/or a Psychiatrist - because (they) can prescribe medicine and might be able to pinpoint better what is wrong with your Hubby.

Ka'at went through several Drs and tests before they finally sent her to a Neurologist who pinpointed that she had Multiple Sclerosis! They didn't find out with a CT but with a MRI and a Spinal Tap, that the Neurologist ordered.

So yer Grown Children have discovered something is not right with your Hubby too?

The hardest part was getting him to get in the car. Now he's fussing at me about him repeating his obsessions. I'm not the one doing it.

The lawyer made copies of the papers the hospital gave me. He said he's going to try to get the prosecutor to drop the case, but can't guarantee it. It may go the grand jury, or just a regular court case. We will have to wait and see.

Post another letter....been doing some busy work today; WoW, Angie. We hope the prosecutor understands; I'm sure ppl who suffer from dementia are seen by the courts a lot?!

I know when my Mom was going through it ,she had to go before a Judge because the County wanted her committed...but she understood enough of the legal jargon to get a reprieve and sent home. They didn't know she's gone to law school, so even though she didn't complete law school, she could talk the talk!

She behaved after that bit of business; she's destroyed some of my stuff and tossed Ka'at out of the bed. She was also suffering from PTSD..and Dementia. A great combination...NOT!

YES!!!!!!! By all means get a power-of-attorney. . .it will save you some heartache, especially if you don't share costs and credit.

Badger the attorney so that you can get it done asap!

That was actually the doctor at the hospital's suggestion. They can't do anything without it.

If I were to have him arrested, they would just take him to the hospital and they would call me to come get him.

Everything I've read to help me with him is very expensive. We are flat broke. No hope of any help.

These ppl can't help with the legal aspect of your current situation but they can help you for moral support and other issues concerning Dementia. I think they're part of the County Resources Center (?)
