The time was last right in 1988 and 2008, the two previous years he’s run. [Politico]
• Certain members of Congress and the Senate are flocking to the C.I.A.’s Langley, Virginia, headquarters to see the postmortem Osama bin Laden photos and then describing the images in minute detail to the press. [The Hill]
• United States authorities, supervised by Pakistan’s intelligence service, mined three of bin Laden’s wives for information about their husband. The women were unhelpful and combative, according to intelligence officials. [CNN]
• Audience members seemed to enjoy the refashioned Spider-Man, the first preview of which went up yesterday evening. “Uncle Ben dying in this one had more of an effect than in the last one,” one theatergoer said. “There’s a lot of dialogue now, which is good,” observed another. • Vitaly Borker, the notoriously unpleasant proprietor of the eyeglasses Web site DecorMyEyes and the subject of a damning investigation in last November’s New York Times, plead guilty to several counts of fraud and sending threatening messages. His lawyer expects he’ll serve up to 18 months of jail time. [The New York Times]
