I just got back home from visiting my sister, Ka'at, and she wasn't doing too well. She's been spiking a fever , dehydrated, and low oxygen levels. They have her on oxygen and giving her breathing treatments, too.  

I'll be visiting her again tomorrow; her SW came and picked me up , I visited with her about 4 hrs, and got a ride back home with one of the Hospice Chaplains.

sounds like an SW that knows her job. Takes a while to get there I expect.

Yes, it takes a while to get there these days because of L.A. type traffic; she ate more of her Lunch then she had been and she tried to perk up. 

I've been waiting for my Uber Ride that the Hospice is paying for but it seems there's a loss of signals ?!  We are experiencing our normal June Gloom and that could one of the problems. :::::
I don't have Smartphone that takes an Uber app, it's more like a flip phone.

my cell is what alctel calls there my flip on the govt phone plan.
but I do not use it much yet. can have a smart phone on it, 1000 min+ data, the one 1 I am with is a tracfone company. tf bought family mobile @ walmart, I think there are 3 tracfone companies now that can be used for life line service. not all in all states maybe, but family mobile I bet is. it is on at&t tower though.  look up simple mobile they are on the coast I think, they are tf also not sure whose towers they are on.

if a phone says cdma can work with Verizon.  gsm is at&t tf, has both tracfone.com has phones as low as FREE with a plan purchase.  I bought a refurb use on my wifi, walmart, library, ect wifi.  $9.99
I think it was, an lg rebel 2 or 3.

Angie I just got a thing in the mail if someone switch to family mobile I get $50.00 I may have tossed it. but it is not needed, had very good pricing if at&t service is good in your area.

It wouldn't of made any difference in what cell service one has on Tuesday, because it was down where I live; the Hospice is paying for my rides up there and back ( Uber or Lyft) it depends on who is doing the calling.  

The SW couldn't get a signal and traveled 50 miles away to try and get one , then an RN tried too ....nothing.  I couldn't talk or text anyone while I was outside waiting; I went back into the Apartment and used my Landline and got through to the Hospice office.  They tried to get in touch with either the SW or RN that have those apps....N-O-T-H-I-N-G happened!  No service...and that isn't good especially when they have to rush to see a client that might be "moving on"!

I'm not going to willing give up my Landline....seeing as that is my only back-up when cell service is down!

Headed out today to do some last minute shopping and hopefully go see Ka'at today; I did see her on Wednesday and stayed until after rush hour. I was there over 5 hours.

I still have my landline. It's free. It's google voice with an Obi box. The internet has to be working for it to work though. So when the internet is down, so is the phone and the cable.

my house phone comes in via cell, so that would not be good.
your house phone is on lifeline discount?

No there wasn't any statement that I saw, but the Lyft driver on the way back home yesterday told me a couple of Towers were down. ::::
