| We replaced both sink strainers. They were both broken. Still leaking around them. We have put sealant and now silicone. Hopefully it will work. My kitchen is all apart until everything dries. Probably at least a couple of days.
S?
Hopefully, off to work. They have been calling me off every day so far.

strainer baskets are sometimes hard to remove but if the putty squeezes out all the way around all should go well, and no silicone needed. no dry time for putty, 2 hrs maybe for silicone. if a gap between strainer and sink opening caulk there I suppose, will keep from catching dirty water.

| Yes, and we didn't know about the putty until my husband already put the first one in. Then he couldn't get it back out, way too tight. You would think that would make it too tight to leak, but not so.

So is there any chance the silicone or sealant will stop the leaks? We are currently waiting for them to dry out. I've heard at least 24 -48 hours or more.

| C^ I doubt it, the gap is large, 2 may be fighting each other. should not even be $4 for the right product, roll like play dough, long & straight like pretzel stick. _________________ | |

| no you have to loosen them take all other stuff out from under the wide lip, wipe good then take your long roll lay around lip roll under, must overlap. then when re -tightening it squeezes out, get basket so flush with sink bottom. the baskets under the sink should not have gone bad. maybe someone changed b4 and did a poor job rolling the putty, has to be long enough and not to thin. did you replace the drain parts attached to the baskets?

| That's the problem. We can't get the one sink strainer out. It's way too tight. Hubby put it in without putty before he knew about it. Can't get it back out. Haven't tried to get the other one out but doubt it. You would think if it's too tight to get out, that it wouldn't leak, but not so.
The trailer is 35 years old. Don't think they had ever been replaced. Was surprised they were plastic. If this doesn't stop leaks, will probably try to use buckets or something to catch the water. Until we can do something else, not sure what. Hubby sprayed sealant again this morning. Will allow it to dry at least another day.
