I bought a Vivitar camera a few weeks ago. I realized I needed to download the software to this computer. It says I can't download to the chromebook? Don't see why not, I downloaded my tax returns, no problem.

no on pc memory, tax returns went to da cloud.

have cord that plugs into usb, plug it in it should upload the pics, giving on screen pop ups as needed.

yes, it's digital, no film, had a micro SD card, I haven't taken hardly any pics yet, hooked it up to this computer (chromebook) with the usb cord, don't see any pics, the people at the chromebook help site said you can't download, not a big deal yet

been trying to figure out if I can afford to quit working. Eventually, I don't think I will have a choice. Hubby get disability, might be able to make it on that. But next year, Medicare kicks in. I know we will have to pay premiums for that. Been googling to see what's what.

Angie I read where some CB' have a slot for your card, look it over.  many videos u tube says sd on slot!  the find files in app drawer or bottom row. then follow prompts. even my old one has it.

has you or husband gotten a statement of credits from soc security? and is he on ssdi or ssi? both? 

your income is not affecting his status now?

WyZ I think you can do what you said you have to find what you plugged in. You're using a mouse should make easier.

Yeah, I've only taken a few pics. Not a big deal yet. There is supposed to be a slot for an SD card on the chromebook. Mine is a micro, though.

He gets SSDI. My income is not a factor. I only work part-time. It's not much anyway.

then you will need to get an adapter, micro to sd. can buy micro with the adapter, stores should have also. funny did not come with camera.  I have several old dig cameras all have full slots, but two of my cards are micro with adapters.  some of my cameras will do video.

thats good that he is getting ssdi, has more credits earned, I am short credits.

The micro card did come with an adapter. Seems like a hassle to take it in and out though. Took me a while to get it in the camera right. The camera takes still pics and video.

I tried opening a folder with my mouse and came up empty.  I know that stuff can be downloaded from a thumb drive because they recommend you do a backup of your system in  the Chromebook Help Forum. 
  I didn't and don't have a spare one at the moment so I can't do a system restore.
